To Current Members of the
Cemetery Board:
Chris Lamar, President
Alan Lamar, Treasurer
Gentlemen,
The deadline that was drawn in
the sand is fast approaching and I need to know if either of you are going to
take on the responsibility of doing what is right and proper. I asked the President to call a meeting so
that we could elect new board members for those who left and add two additional
board members so we could proceed with the business of maintaining the
cemetery.
Since, at this juncture I have
not seen progress in that regards I am going to assume that you did not believe
me and understand that on November 1st, 2013 I am going to turn over
all information and knowledge I have to the Posey County Prosecutors Office and
let them figure this out. I represent
over 30 people from the Cheaney Family, The Seibert Family, The Wharton Family,
The McDonald Family, The Kelley Family, and The Hogge Family who have asked me
to forward everything to the prosecutor’s office.
As of the 15th of
October, the grass was to my waist at the front of the cemetery and this is not
only irresponsible, it is downright disrespectful of all those who are interred
there. I told Mr. Chris Lamar and Mr. Alan
Lamar that politics and personal family issues here are not important to me and
out of respect for those who went before us; this group and I are going to make
sure that this does not ever occur again in the history of this
organization. Petty arguments and stubbornness
have no business in a charitable organization.
I still believe that both of you
have something to offer the organization.
That is why I stepped back and gave 30 days before I acted on the motion
that was given to me by the others. I am
sending this document to both of you as a final plea to do what is correct,
ethical, and proper.
Sincerely,
Douglas R. Gempel, Family
Representative.
This letter was sent by me on OCT 16 to the current board members. I did not threaten any one I advised that I promise to deliver the knowledge of the issues surrounding this organization to the Posey County Government Entity that can investigate and resolve any disputes regarding the cemetery and its operation. Any questions can be directed to Doug Gempel or the board members.
