We become successful when we work together to accomplish great things.  Collaboration builds fellowship among men and makes enemies become friends. Have you given thanks for what you have and helped out your fellow man!  Together we can accomplish anything-alone we struggle to reach our goals.  So lets come together RIGHT NOW -You and Me-!!!!  We can build a strong future for our organization so future generations can rest in peace knowing that the 21st century group or society worked to build the organization and protect it from decay.

These colors do not run!

The men who fought for our freedom are buried in these hallowed grounds.  We salute those who gave the ultimate sacrifice and we salute those who have given us our FREEDOM!

God Bless them all!

Welcome!

Hello Everyone,

I would like to welcome you to this blog that has been established to allow conversations about a small rural cemetery in SW Indiana.  Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, located in Smith Township, Posey County, Indiana, USA is important to me because several of my extended family is buried there.  The other aspect that I find interesting are the individuals who passed away before my family started interring their deceased there.  The cemetery has a historical and military heritage within its borders and many of the graves are from settlers, pioneers who tamed what was once considered hostile Indian terretory. As the area was settled the Indians were forced to move further west.  This part of the story remains as an example of what should not have been done by our forefathers because in Christianity, we are encouraged to embrace diversity and form some common ground for which we can establish a consensus among both parties. Forcing the Indians off of their land seems less civil than it should be.  We were in the wrong and we should have tried to peacefully coexist with them.  Some of the stones here date back to the 18th century (1700's) and there are some revolutionary war heroes buried here.
